Finish With Faith Bible Verse:
Hebrews 12:1-2
God Disciplines His Sons
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

1985 - Feasibility committee formed to study the growth patterns and long term building requirements.

• Educational space limited
• Office/Library space limited
• Fellowship Hall space limited
Trustees Report 1986
“We made our first big step in expansion by purchasing portable walls for the basement.”
1991 - Search was made for rumored plans of building a mirror image to the present building. Parsonage improvements came out of a study regarding building use. Drew up tentative plans for an addition. Parsonage renovations completed (approx. $15,000)
Senior Pastor’s Report 1991
“The parsonage renovation project this summer was an adventure itself!”
1992 - New building committee met for the first time to discussion the need for a building addition.
1993 - Congregation approves general design for an addition when (and if) we build.
Building Committee Annual Report 1993
“The Building Committee has been meeting monthly for well over a year now in an attempt to find solutions for the space constraints of FEFC” “We contacted a firm called Church Buildings by Andrews…” $14,000 would be needed for drawings.
1994 - Building Committee Annual Report 1994
“As reported in January, the next step towards construction involves the architectural plans needed to raise the new wing. … The space pressures on the building continue to exist and therefore, we are encouraging continued donations to the fund. We wonder how many guests feel the strain on our facilities and decide not to make this their home. Every church we visited during our research told us the same story about how they should have expanded years earlier. The enhancements to their education and recreational facilities brought in new individuals and families adding to the vitality and life of their respective churches.”
1997 - Congregation votes on if there is a sense that God would have us build. A required 85% yes was asked for. The vote was 75% in yes and 25% no. This was taken as a request for more specific details regarding cost and how much we could raise.
Associate Pastor’s Annual Report 1997
“This means continued sacrifice in keeping up this present building, continuing to discuss a new addition, and involving ourselves in ministry areas as God leads.”
1998 - Congregation votes 100% to spend $14,000 to have architect’s drawings done so a more accurate cost can be present.
1999 - Senior Pastor’s Annual Report 1999
“In regards to the ‘Act on Faith’ stewardship campaign, the response of our church family has been awesome.”
2000 - 2006 Two stewardship campaigns
Renovations - Furnace, Roof, hand icap accessibility, carpeting, etc.
2001 - Construction Report 2001
“While all these other activities were taking place (chair lift, paint and carpet in the sanctuary, parking lot lighting), a construction committee was formed to evaluate our existing plans and make recommendation for revisions based on our project needs. A new architectural firm was identified and after preliminary meetings, their proposal to develop conceptual plans for our project was approved.”
2002 - Senior Pastor’s Report 2002
In May the congregation voted to proceed with a Phase II stewardship campaign, which we promoted as ‘Act on Faith: Building to Impact lives for Christ.’
Construction Committee Minutes from May 2002
“Jack MacLellan has been working hard with the architect on plans for the new building and the plans are 85% complete. He has created a plan that can be built in phases.”
2005 - Completed Phase I of construction
2006 - Senior Pastor’s Report 2006
“If God continues to bless us, we will also need to consider movement to two services. This will impact us in a number of ways, but is part of healthy growth. To handle these numbers and the expected growth of the youth group, we need to pray about how to continue to pay down the mortgage in creative ways, so we can begin Phase II of our building expansion.”
2010 - Finish With Faith
Moving forward with our vision, the plan has always been to construct a mirror image to the present building to create a fully functional and balanced building that will accommodate between 400 to 500 people.
