Women of the Bible
Sally Abbott
Sunday 9:45am via Zoom
To paraphrase Beth Moore, the Bible is the most compelling story ever told, beginning in Genesis 1:1: “Let there be” and ending with “it is done” (Rev 21:6). In Scripture, God presents many stories of women’s lives to inspire and teach us today. Each woman had an encounter with God which changed her life, as well as those in her world (people, society, village, nation). These stories may seem overly familiar, but in this class, we will look at them in a fresh way and apply what we learn in our everyday lives.
We will step back and look at the women individually, then through God’s perspective and their place in the whole story of the Bible. Taking a 3D view, their stories teach us valuable principles: what godly behavior looks like, how to hear His voice, recognizing His call on our lives, role models to follow, pitfalls to avoid, the reality of the ups and downs, family relationships, the importance of our words, being Christ bearers in our families, the different seasons of the life of faith, life as a new believer or a mature believer, telling our world about Jesus, and more. By examining these women’s lives we will better understand the personal revival each woman experienced in her encounter with God.
We will read and discuss John MacArthur’s TWELVE EXTRAORDINARY WOMEN: How God Shaped Women of the Bible and What He Wants to Do With You; and use the Bible as our primary source material. Copies of the book are available on amazon.com for $10.49. (It is not necessary to buy the study guide as well.)
Cat & Dog Theology
(Spring 2021)

Sunday 9:45am via Zoom and In-person, Overflow room
From http://www.catndogtheology.com/ à “A dog may look at you and think, 'You feed me, you pet me, you shelter me, you love me -- You must be god!’ But a cat looks at you and thinks, ‘You feed me, pet me, you shelter me, you love me -- I must be god!’ Cat n Dog Theology is a fresh way of looking at your relationship with God, the Bible, yourself... and the world. Simply put, we ‘say’ we live our lives for God, but we actually live it for ourselves. We ‘say’ God is the main character of the Bible, but we underline the parts about us (how He will bless us, watch over us, protect us and save us). And when we pray, we spend much of the time telling God what we want. So, again, while we ‘SAY’ we live our life for God, in our self-centeredness, we live our lives, pray our prayers, and read our Bibles as if it's all about US. Using humor and contemporary teaching methods Cat n Dog Theology presents a relationship with God in a new light. Cat n Dog Theology is designed to alter our relationship with God, our church, our lives and our world.”
New Testament Survey
Pastor Brad Johnson
Sundays 9:45am via Zoom
“The New Testament is a record of historical events, the ‘good news’ events of the saving life of the Lord Jesus Christ—His life, death, resurrection, ascension, and the continuation of His work in the world—which is explained and applied by the apostles whom He chose and sent into the world. It is also the fulfillment of those events long anticipated by the Old Testament. Further, it is sacred history, which, unlike secular history, was written under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. This means it, like the Old Testament, is protected from human error and possesses divine authority for the church today and throughout human history until the Lord Himself returns.” (J. Hampton Keathley III)
This year we will do an overview of all the New Testament (NT) books, Matthew to Revelation, studying the author, the purpose, the content, and the message of each book. Have you wanted to see how the NT books all fit together? Come join us! Pastor Brad
