Dear Parents,
The Board of Youth and Education has put together some links to help you spend quality time with your children sharing God's Word during this time of social distancing without elementary Sunday school classes. Please look over the following and preview all materials to make sure that they are right for your family.
https://www.focusonthefamily.com/
Click on Focus at Home at the very top of the home screen. Focus on the Family is offering free audios, videos, feature films, etc. for all ages. This is a wonderful resource. Adventures in Odyssey audios and videos have encouraging messages, many times sharing the Gospel and definitely great for teaching life lessons and perfect for discussion especially with your older children. There are also great resources for parent support and parent education and enjoyment including The Truth Project and That the World May Know. You'll need to sign up, but the resources are free.
https://www.kidsofintegrity.com/
Focus on the Family also offers over 30 different lessons that can be downloaded on topics such as acceptance, forgiveness, courage, and self control.
rightnowmedia.org
Right Now Media also has a wonderful selection of videos for children including Veggie Tales, Superbook, Bibleman, and my favorite children's animated movie - The Easter Promise. Right Now is offering some free streaming, but Faith Church has an account so it would be best to contact the church office via email actonfaithefc@gmail.com to sign up through the church's account.
https://offers.pureflix.com/
Pure Flix offers a Christian Resource Library with free downloads including devotionals for children with activity pages. Some of their offerings are on a trial basis before purchasing.

Other family ideas include reading children's books such as The Chronicles of Narnia, Little House on the Prairie series, Heroes of the Faith, Sugar Creek Gang, The Boxcar Children series (the first nineteen original books), children's Christian biographies, and other age appropriate classics. These books can all be used as good teaching tools for family discussion. Some suggested question for discussion could be: What did you learn about God from this book? How were the Christian characters portrayed? What can we learn from the good/bad behavior?
Parenting in the Pew: Guiding Your Children into the Joy of Worship by Robbie F. Castleman
This book is about how to help children worship God, specifically by helping them participate in the church worship service. The author thinks it good for children to be in the service starting quite young and has suggestions for helping them participate in the service worshiping God.
As with all media and materials, please be discerning with what would be appropriate for your family and the age of your children.
If you have any questions or want more ideas, please contact Susan Robertson or Sue Lewis
