How do I become
 a Member?

"For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. "  Romans 12:4-5 ESV

About Membership

When someone is saved by Jesus Christ, that person becomes a member of the universal body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:13). Because they are united to Christ and the other members of His body in this way, that person is therefore qualified to become a member of a particular expression of that body, the local church.

What is Membership?

Membership is a way of recognizing a formal relationship between a Christian and a local church. A member is someone the church has affirmed as a Christ-follower and who commits to living out their discipleship in the care of the church and the oversight of its leadership. In short, membership communicates an allegiance to the church and an agreement with what the church believes and values.

Why Membership?

The biblical vision is that believers are part of a local church so that they may fully give themselves to the “one-anothers” of the New Testament: caring for one another, forgiving one another, bearing one another's burdens, and many more. Membership enables the church community to better see who are brothers and sisters in the family of God that they are called to love and serve in order that they might grow in Christ-likeness and represent Him to a broken world.

Responsibilities of Membership?

Members are expected to serve the church community in various ways, to exercise their spiritual gifts, to faithfully attend church services and meetings, and to give financial support to the church as they are able. Members accept the responsibility of helping facilitate the mission and vision of the church, sometimes by serving in leadership roles. Members are also more formally accountable to live by the beliefs and standards of the church in keeping with their profession of faith.

How to become a Member?

The first step is to attend a membership class in order to learn more about who we are and what we believe as a church. This includes becoming familiar with our constitution and by-laws as well as our church's statement of faith. Those who desire to pursue membership after the class will give their testimony to saving faith in Jesus Christ before a group of our elders and deacons. Indicate your interest below and we will let you know when the next membership class will happen!
