How can I Serve?

For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve...

Mark 10:45

42 And Jesus called them to him and said to them, “You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 43 But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Faith church has a vibrant missions ministry. Our 2022 Faith Promise Missions budget is just over $125,000 supporting 18 missionary families and various short term missionary efforts. The ministries and needs of the missionaries are communicated frequently to the congregation by our Missions Committee.

Acton Food Pantry

The Acton Food Pantry has been providing food to residents-in-need in Acton, MA and surrounding towns since 1984.  Acton Community Supper and Food Pantry, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization established to help alleviate food-insecurity in Acton and its contiguous towns - Boxborough, Concord, Carlisle, Littleton, Maynard, Stow and Westford.

FEFC  has collections quarterly to help supply the pantry in Jan/Apr/Jul/Oct, months when their donations tend to be lower.

Journey to Bethlehem

Each year we seek to reach our friends, neighbors, and community to share with them the joyous reason to celebrate the Christmas season. We spend time gathering props, costumes, animals, and people to bring to life before your eyes the rugged, inspired journey that a pregnant Mary made with Joseph over 2000 years ago as they carried with them the Son of God.  We hope that during the Christmas season you will share in the true meaning of Jesus' birth and remember His gift to you.

Other Opportunities to Serve

There are many opportunities for teens, adults, and even children to serve; such as children's ministry, youth ministry, nursery, disabilities ministry, worship team, Vacation Bible Camp, work days and much more.  The goal is for everyone to be involved by serving God, serving others, and building up the body of Christ as we use the gifts God has given each of us for His glory.

Opportunities abound throughout the year that just about anyone can become involved with.  The desire is to see everybody exercise the gifts that God has given, to serve others, bring glory to His name, and win the lost for Christ (for safety, volunteering with minors involves background checks).

Serve the Greater Church

Use your unique gifts to help build the Kingdom.

10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
1 Peter 4:10-11

Volunteer FAQ

How do I volunteer?

For some opportunities such as serving in an all church work day, people can just jump in. For other volunteer areas, as you see opportunities arise, you can talk to the leader of that ministry about ways you would like to help. (For some ministries, such as working with children, we require people to attend for 6 months before volunteering.)

How do I volunteer with kids?

Volunteering with kids to help them know and grow in Christ can be very rewarding! We take the care of kids seriously, so we generally require those who wish to be key volunteers with kids to attend the church for at least 6 months first. And we require a background check for our official adult volunteers. Teens can also become official volunteers after attending 6 months and being approved by the youth pastor. Those interested in volunteering can talk to the Kids' Clubs, Children's Church, Children's Sunday School, or CREW, or Nursery Leaders to find out more.

How do I volunteer with music?

Here at Faith Evangelical Free Church, we have a vibrant worship team music ministry.  To volunteer, send a note to the church office requesting connection with one of our worship team music ministry leaders.

How do I volunteer with students?

Volunteering with students is a great opportunity for teens know and grow in a relationship with Jesus. Because of taking this ministry seriously, we generally require those who would like to be key volunteers with teens to attend church here for at least 6 months first. We also require a background check for our regular adult leaders for Youth Group and Teen Sunday School. Other lower commitment opportunities come up along the way such as parents opening a home for teen BBQs, etc. Those interested in volunteering with students can talk with the youth pastor to find out more.
